  2. Skin Pain – Soak in a warm bath with Epsom salt, oatmeal, or other natural oils to help soothe the skin. While hot water can release histamines that make the area feel better, it will also dry out the skin and may create more pain later. Dry thoroughly and apply your thick moisturizer.
  3. Joint Pain – You may be surprised to hear that physical activity can help with joint pain. Moving joints and elevating your heart rate helps to circulate blood and to stretch out stiff joints. Exercise also supports immune system health and releases feel-good hormones such as endorphins. 
  4. Redness – Check if your skin inflammation results from a food allergy. Remove sugar, alcohol, gluten, nuts, and dairy from your diet for at least 30 days and see if your symptoms improve.
  5. Rough Skin and Scales – Use lotions containing salicylic, lactic, or glycolic acids, as these help to break up dead skin cells and can help heal inflamed skin. Wrap plastic wrap over the area overnight to prevent the lotion from wiping off.

Psoriasis will be with you forever, but it doesn’t have to dictate how you feel about yourself.
