Did you know wrinkles, blemishes, and other skin problems could be linked to early aging and chronic illness?

These issues are normally caused by toxic compounds found in your food, environment and beauty products causing oxidation and inflammation.

The good news is there is a super-molecule available that helps fight against toxic compounds leading to ill health and diminished quality of life.

    It is called glutathione.

    What is Glutathione?

For an in-depth exploration please read our glutathione review article here. Glutathione has a multitude of protective benefits. Read more about 14 ways glutathione can benefit you here

Glutathione is often referred to as the body’s “master antioxidant.” It fights against “oxidative stress”—a condition that is a natural byproduct of your metabolism but made worse by toxins like chemicals and heavy metals from air, food and water we ingest. Oxidative stress is caused by the production of free radicals and reactive oxygen species (ROS). These are fancy medical terms but the bottom line is they cause oxidation or “rusting” and inflict harm to everything they encounter. Left unchecked, these molecules damage cell membranes, DNA, and lead to cellular damage that generally overruns your body. The results are all of the downstream effects we experience as illness or aging: more wrinkles, less shiny skin, lethargy, fatigue, “brain fog” and even chronic conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and more.

In optimal conditions your body naturally produces enough glutathione to counter the free radicals and ROS produced by your metabolism. Unfortunately, few of us live in optimal conditions.

Here is a short list of things which will lower glutathione levels:

    • Poor nutrition,
    • Alcohol consumption
    • Smoking
    • Excess stress
    • Too little exercise, OR
    • Intense strenuous exercise
    • A system overrun with toxins like heavy metals and pesticides
    • Medications like Tylenol
    • Chronic illnesses like diabetes, autoimmune conditions and infections
    • Aging – after the age of 20 glutathione levels decrease by 10% every 10 years

All of these factors deplete our glutathione levels leaving us susceptible to chronic illness, low energy, and more.

    Why Liposomal Glutathione?

Plain "powdered" (capsule form) glutathione is a very fragile three amino acid peptide. Studies have shown that "plain" powder glutathione doesn't survive stomach acid and digestive enzymes and doesn't get absorbed. Liposomes are microscopic spheres which house and protect their contents.

The liposomal structures in this product protect the glutathione from the harsh environment of the stomach and increase absorption as these spheres fuse with the cells of the small intestine where absorption takes place. That means this form of glutathione will reach circulation more efficiently and effectively.

    How to Take this Product

Take 2 softgels (one dose) in the morning on an empty stomach. Wait 45 minutes to eat or take any other supplements. Juice and coffee (no cream) are okay while waiting the 45 minutes. Even with liposomal technology, glutathione is fragile and needs to be given the chance to fully absorb. You can repeat dosing if necessary, again on an empty stomach in the early afternoon. Avoid taking these late in the evening or before bed as the choline from the phosphatidylcholine complex can be very activating and cause insomnia.

Glutathione is the body’s “master antioxidant”. It may directly inactivate dangerous molecules directly responsible for aging, DNA damage and oxidation – “rusting” – of cell membranes and structure. The dangerous molecule Glutathione inactivates are termed “Free Radicals” and “Reactive Oxygen Species” (ROS). They are generated from normal metabolic activity but also from exposure to the environment (UV light, smoke, heavy metals and pollution). Glutathione also can re-cycle other antioxidants like Vitamin C, Alpha-Lipoic-Acid and Vitamin E, all of which also inactivate Free Radicals and ROS’s. In addition to being a key anti-oxidant, Glutathione can protect cells and organs via its key role in Phase-2 Detoxification. Here glutathione is capable of attaching directly to noxious molecules such as heavy metals, inactivating them and making them water soluble and thus ready for elimination from the body. Glutathione can also play a key role in energy production and methylation, two integral processes at the core of normal cellular function. Lastly, there are reports, which may substantiate the role of glutathione in the inhibition of melanocytes, pigmenting cells, which may cause a lightening effect on skin.

Due to the liposomal technology employed in this product, the absorption of “Liposomal Glutathione” is markedly higher than the plain Glutathione. In fact, plain Glutathione is an extremely fragile molecule made of three amino acids which is easily degraded and destroyed by bile and stomach acid so the only way to truly absorb any Glutathione orally is by using liposomes.

Liposomes are microscopic spheres containing the vitamin(s) in the interior. Because the outer, surrounding layer is made of the same building blocks as human cells, liposomes can be compared to miniature “vitamin carrying cells”. The liposome structure and human cells are both made of phospholipids. The most abundant phospholipid in cell membranes is Phosphatidylcholine and it constitutes the main phospholipid in our liposomes as well.

Once you ingest vitamin-carrying liposomes, they will journey through the digestive tract relatively unharmed by stomach acid, bile and digestive enzymes. When they reach the small intestine, where absorption of all nutrients in food occurs, the liposomes will then attach to the small intestinal cell membranes. The liposome outer shell and the cell membrane will now “fuse” (they are made of the same phospholipids) releasing vitamin content to the interior of the cell and eventually into your circulation.

    Other Benefits of Phospholipids:

The lipid outer-layer of the liposomes is made of Phospholipid Complex (PC): a ratio mixture of Phosphatidyl-Choline, Phosphatidyl-Ethanolamine and Phosphatidyl-Inositol. These same three phospholipids are found in our own cell membranes, but they get oxidized (rusted) as a normal effect of aging. Oxidized cell membranes don’t work very well, but fortunately, the PC in our liposomes serves as fresh un-oxidized material to rebuild aged cell membranes. Even importantly, mitochondria, the energy-producing organelles inside our cells, have their own inner and outer membranes and that is where the final steps of energy production occur. PC then helps repair mitochondrial membranes and restore mitochondrial function as well as energy production.

Phsophatidyl-Choline is also a very rich source of Choline from which Acetylcholine (Ach) is made. Acetylcholine (Ach) is a main neurotransmitter without which we can’t survive. In the Autonomic Nervous System, it drives the communication which keeps the heart, lungs, intestines, adrenals and all internal organs working at appropriate speeds. In the brain, Ach is needed for memory, attention, and focus and is the main target for many Alzheimer’s medications. Because PC contributes to alertness, we advise you do not consume this product after 3 pm.

Lastly, phospholipids in the cell membranes are converted to Arachidonic Acid and prostoglandings, the main communication molecules in cell-to-cell communication and the immune and inflammatory systems.

What is the difference between the liposomal glutathione softgels and the liposomal glutathione liquid?

The liquid works faster than the softgels because the softgels have to open which delays onset. The liquid has more phospholipids (PC Complex), 500 mg versus the 350 mg of the softgels. The PC complex has its own very therapeutic and nutritional effect potentially lowering cholesterol, aiding in cardiovascular health, enhancing focus and alertness and balancing the autonomic nervous system. Liquid glutathione has a sulfuric taste that some people can't get used to despite the citrus flavoring. The liquid also has to be refrigerated after opening. The softgels don't have to be refrigerated and don't have any taste. They are great for taking with you on trips, at work, etc.

    Will I feel more energy?

Many people do feel more energy immediately. Others do not feel much of a difference. Those who have higher levels of chronic inflammation, fatigue, chronic illness are more likely to feel an immediate difference in energy levels than those who are healthier. Glutathione continues to work regardless of how much "energy" you feel. It has silent effects on detoxification and cell metabolism.

    What is the shelf life?

The shelf life is 24 months after the Manufacturing Date (MFG). Some bottles have the MFG and the Expiration Date (EXP) printed on them. Newer batches only have the Expiration Date printed on the label.

Do I have to refrigerate these?

No, just store in a cool place.

Some of the softgels stick to other softgels, is this ok?

Yes, this can happen due to the gelatin in the capsule or, sometimes, excessive heat during transport. As long as the capsule is intact the contents are fine. If in doubt just write to us at info@coremedscience.com - we can always issue a refund or send you a replacement if there is a reason to be concerned.

Can I take multiple doses? Should I take multiple doses at once or split them up?

Dosing is individualized and is probably best in split doses to maintain levels. Avoid taking over 3000 mg total of PC Complex.

    Does it significantly lighten skin?

The effect on suppressing the melanin (pigment) in skin is very gradual and will likely take weeks to months to notice. Glutathione binds and helps eliminate toxins and this effect can improve complexion as well.

What is the source of the gelatin?

    The source is bovine (cows).

    Does it taste sulfuric?

No, these do not have a sulfuric taste like liquid liposomal glutathione.

Is this made here in the USA?

Yes. The product is proudly produced in an FDA registered, cGMP third party verified facility.

Is there corn in this product?

    No there is no corn.

    Is this product non-GMO?

    Yes, it is.

    Is this product Dairy Free?

    Yes, it is.

    Is this product Soy-Free?

    Yes, it is.

Can I open the sofgtel and pour the contents in juice?

No these softgels are meant to open in the small intestine. Do not open the capsule. If you wish to have a liquid we have a liquid glutathione product.

What is the source of the caramel? How much sugar is there in one serving?

There is a minute amount of caramel (much less than 1 gram of sugar) used to coat the softgels to give them a more pleasant taste. The caramel is dairy-free, gluten-free and is derived from non-GMO sugar cane.

What is the source of MCT oil in these softgels? Is it from coconut?

The source of the MCT oil is from palm, not from coconut.

    What does “China-Free” mean?

The term “China-Free” means the Glutathione and Phospholipids are not from China. They are sourced from non-Chinese sources and the product is made in the United States in an FDA registered, cGMP third party certified facility.

Is there any alcohol in this product?

No. None of our products contain any alcohol
